Daytona visit's

Postby Almafan 55 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 7:14 pm

I've been in Daytona beach for 5 days now. Saturday & Sunday I went to the Rolex 24 hr race. The 2 day entry pass & Sunday garage pass was well worth the $70 price!!! Had a great time.
On Tuesday I went to visit Greg and the guys at the Race place. Even though I don't race the same type of cars they do,I still learn some stuff and met some nice guys.
Today I visited ModlerBob, I spent about 3 1/2 hrs shooting the bull ( I do that well! ) running his track. He's built some really nice cars! His super resistance Scalextric IROC cars are Great. If your in the area and want to race Bob has everything a group wants. I had a good time! Thanks Bob,was hoping to meet Florida slotter and others. But things just didn't work out. Maybe next year.
Tomorrow taking my nephew on a Daytona track tour. I love coming here every year just to get a break from the Michigan winter! :music-rockout:

I was able to spend some time with Bob a couple of weeks ago.
He has a great track and great cars.

Thanks guys for the praise. I really love having guests come by and I hope you both come back during your next visit to Florida.

I forgot to mention the cool T-shirt from the last Michigan 24hr race and Piranha motors Rob brought from Mike and the guys at Cloverleaf Racing. We had a good chat before running a while on the track. I'm afraid that at my current level of expertise I wouldn't be much more than a middle of the pack competitor up there in Michigan. Maybe one by one when you guys retire you will decide to move to Florida and the racing here will pick up.

Hope you liked the shirt Bob. I haven't had a chance to get back to Florida in awhile. Hopefully that will change this year.

The shirt is really cool. I sure wish there was a large enough group of dedicated 1/32 racers here in the south to be able to conduct a 24 hour race occasionally somewhere down here.
