That makes sense, especially if the motor was idle for a while.
Little electric motors are like real car engines, build them all the same, and they will all have a little variance in performance.

I think Michael Shank Racing has been using metallic wraps on his cars for a few years now. He might have been the first to do this. Really flashy car.

Going by Harry's photo of the motors, I'd hazard a guess they're from different manufacturers. Not only is the endbell a different colour but the casings are different too as 'can' be seen by the cut outs around the tabs that hold the end bells on. If this is the case then they're pretty close to matching specs.

Scalextric’s Chinese manufacture is really good at applying full body decal. The DP is definitely a full wrap decal. I looked at several at my local shop before choosing mine. Some had registration issues, mostly it was the front grill (black) was off. They don’t seem to be doing much Tampo printing any more.

Can’t wait for the new BTCC BMW with the chrome blue markings!

Just picked up this one and the Chip Ganassi one. Can't wait to receive them. Here's hoping there is perhaps a Corvette DP in the works to race with these two Fords. The Gainsco Red Dragon or the Wayne Taylor Racing ones would be nice...

Quick question, is yours noisy? My red/blue version is quite loud... sounds like gear noise and it probably just needs to run in some more, but was just curious what others were experiencing. Other than that the car runs very well!

No, mine seems fine. But did have a BTCC model making the "normal" racket that is associated with a split pinion.

They are hard to see, but try checking that. And with the body off, and the car under power, check the rear axle bushings. See if they are loose and rattling.
