Looks like fun. I see what you guys have been talking about with these cars. Smooth, quiet gears, too.
Comparing the sound to the sound on the Javelin/Mustang video, the Scaleys sound like they are grinding rocks. Of course, like you said in the video, it takes very little work to make both the Javelin and the Mustang run smooth as glass and very fast in the curves, but what a comparison between the two videos!
A few years back, I decided that Scaley had changed their rubber compound and I ran them with stock tires much longer than I would have. I found that they are time-sensitive. When they age a little, sanding becomes essential, even more than before, but overall, the new compound is wildly better on my wood track. Eventually, I go to urethanes, but running stock Scaley rubber was never so good.
