Not a bad runner up for missing the 24 hr.
I can tell you personally that the last 8 hours were too wet to enjoy, but it was a fun event.
My first time there and was a great experience.

Love this car! I picked up the Gulf version, it has been very dificult for me to tune even as a sidewinder, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Ohh yeah see you guys all at the race next year.

I bought both the white and the blue but mine are anglewinder and I love them. I put all my weight in the front and they are within a couple thousands of a second of my Mosler.

My track has rather short straights, the longest being 12' so I replaced the long can FK motor with a 20k rpm FC130 motor and it is now much tamer which produces faster lap times. The screw on the motor mount holds it firmly in place even without support at the bell end of the motor.

As this car breaks in it keeps getting better. BTW I am now using Paul Gage PGT tires.

I just got my blue NSR Gulf car (sidewinder) a few days ago, it's a beauty! I did have trouble tuning it also. Did the normal, rubbing compound on gears, trued and glued the rears (switch to Ultra compound), shimmed the guide, etc etc. But, it still had a droning noise coming from the body. Chassis alone was smooth and quite, but put the body on and it was horrible. Playing around I added a soft foam buffer between the top of the motor and interior - sound gone! Thickness of foam should be just enough to contact and compress a little bit. Have it set up almost snug on the rear body mount, slightly loose in the front. Pod is tight in the front and 1/2-3/4 turn on the rear screws. This car is awesome now.

I should add -- I put a 3 gram tungsten weight in the front magnet mount, and about 1-2 grams flat lead under the axle.
