Mrrc Cobra help

I just received two mrrc cobras from across the pond, just like the real ones
But turns out both have cracked pinions any one have a source for replacements?

I put a tamer 18k Scaley motor in mine, but kept that original psycho motor.
I put some Cartrix pinions and rings in it. Nice car!
#1058-08 8t pinion, set of 2 crowns 25t 27t #1053 (for 8t pinions)

I've done several things to this car over the years, and by far the most successful and long-lived fixes have been just what Paul says above. Take his advice. The only way to get more from that excellent body is to build a full-on race chassis, and I just can't put something that gorgeous at risk!

I’m curious if these Cobras were the front motored cars or the Sebring chassis cars.
Which was which?
My Cobra has a Sebring.
As for parts, I was able to get MRRC parts through Cincy Slots. Not in stock but Bruce got them from REH.

Early release Cobras from 99-01 were front motor. Re-release 8 years or so back went to the Sebring. Prefer the old version. Not a fan of the Sebring really. Nor the offset gears it did not need and failure rate.

Pinions and parts can be found anywhere, standard Slot.it gears work perfectly.

I figured it out.
The pinion diameter is larger on the replacement gear set. With the motor seated in it’s mount (I use a screw to hold the motor in position), the pinion binds on the traction magnet. On the original gear set that didn’t happen, nor does it on my MkIVs and Cobra (those cars use the 2mm tubing). So, out goes the magnet.
Also found out MRRC has two thicknesses of magnets.
With the larger diameter pinion, the motor shaft is offset to the side of the crown groove opposite the gear. Use of the tubing results in a bind.
Audible difference in the new gearset. They sing, while the other Sebrings that use the tubing grind.

Very odd. I was sent an MRRC Sebring chassis by the gent on Jersey Island who used to own MRRC. He wanted me to make some body masters for him, so sent me a load of stuff, then, unfortunately died.
The Sebring chassis, put under a modsaloons version of an Airfix Triumph Herald, went like a rocket at our local club, being quicker than many of the usual cars, but because it wasn't some overpriced RTR thing they wouldn't allow it. I didn't go back! I did nothing to it at all and it was very quick. I did later lift the back of the motor to get a nicer mesh, but the performance was not noticeably better. It now lives under a Charles Lawrence Monza 860 Ferrari, for which I made the master pattern.

I was able to pick up a few MRRC Cobra coupes from eBay , I plan on keeping one original , and the rest I was going to use the chassis for other builds . Is there pros and cons on those chassis . I also got a few kits through the MRRC web site and it looks like the bodies will match up with the chassis , so I won't have to build one .
