Mario Andretti Lotus

Postby Reslotted » Thu Jan 30, 2014 8:47 pm

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet. But there's a rumour doing the rounds that Flyslot intend to re - release the Andretti Lotus, Due to the first one having some Tampo Issues. I don't think mine was too bad, only the upside down visor printing and the missing Goodyear lettering.

But I think this is great news for everyone who missed out first time around. I sort of assume that an Andretti car would be more popular in the US than the subsequent models that followed. Although my favourite would still be the Ronnie Peterson car.

Could be. The main issue was the absence of clear coat. Both mine were void of it. Easy fix as you say, I just brushed on some Future and they looked great.

I heard the same info, but you know how these folks over in Spain are. You will know what they produced when it's in stores. :)

Funny thing is Harry, my Andretti car had a great clearcoat.
but various tampo underneath that was either missing or printed in an upside down manner.

The Gunner Nielson car had great Tampo but no clear and the Peterson car was about right.

I think it was about when Flyslot did their Phoenix thing and rose from the ashes, having a few technical issues on the way, getting caught out with the move from china back to spain (it was kind of luck of the draw). But they seem to be getting back into the swing of it now and are prepared to admit they had some issues and re address them. Lets hope they keep at it, they've given us some terrific cars over the years, that although had their faults gave us something to do before they went on track. I've never had a Fly Car apart from the March F1 cars that were truly RTR out of the box. Maybe that was part of the charm !!!!! :?

It is amazing the differences we have sometimes isn't it?

You are right. Good old Fly(slot) is a company I likely will enjoy for the rest of my days.

I have two of the originals. The first one was missing the clearcoat, the second one had it. I'm guessing the one missing the clearcoat is the very first run off the line, and they figured it out later and fixed it. :)
