1/32 Sprint Car

Sprints Plus puts out a kit that is nominally 1/32. It uses a brass chassis and vacuform body. The wheels , foam tires, gears, guide etc. are more commercial track style than plastic Euroscale RTR cars mostly discussed here. Look back in the Oval Forum archives and you will find a bunch of cars built from these kits. Last time I looked, Smith Scale Speedway sold them. They used to be a sponsor here but I can't find a link to them when I checked a couple of minutes ago. Another seller is Hot Laps Racin' http://www.hotlapsracin.com/ They sell kits with all of the prebent brass tube roll bar parts but they must be soldered together.

These are often available on the bay, made by ZEE (SPRINT BANDITS) and Road Champs... They are die-cast... There was a thread some time ago with information on converting them to slots.
Here are a few I have and a converted unit also. It`s up to the builder how you go about it. But they do run surprisingly well.
wheelbase is 2-1/4" overall length at around 4-1/2"

Thanks for the info.

I was asked to maker a plastic scale toy of these. It occurred to me to make the kit in a scale that might have some crossover in to slot racing. I first wanted to know if they were already available, in which case I could make the toy small. But if I can use some for racing I am going to make them 1/32 scale I think.

My nephew races and wants some to give out to kids and sell.
