This is a nice little car. The one we have down here is a nice running outfit.

That is good news. I just ordered it today so I haven't held it yet so was comparing it to my Escort with the pipey fast FF 050 slim can. I wish someone would make a Triumph Spitfire or a GT6.

Right. I also am looking for a Spitfire. I have a Airfix GT-6 to build, which I was planning
to convert to a Spit. But I would much rather have a proper body, then I could do both.
I have the Scaley MGB, to be done in Gp. 44 colors.

George Turner has MGBGT and MGCGT body kits. A little pricey for us folks on this side of the pond but the Turner kits are worth it. Pendles actually has 2 different Spits listed, both appear to be MkI/MkII body style; the more detailed version even comes with a chassis.
They also list TR4, TR3, MGB, MGC, Alpine and several other similar "SCCA-esque" resin bodies. All seem to be in in the 20-25 GBP range.

That is a nice GT! My MGB arrived yesterday. She is a beaut of a little bugger. All I had time for was a very quick adjustment of the braids and do a dozen laps or so. She has a little bit of a wheel bounce. I am hoping that it will be a simple casting burr on one of the wheels that can be easily cured.

I think she is over powered. I was running it 5 diodes down on my 12v. battery power set up which I am guessing makes my track at about 10v. The car is too fast for what it is in her present dress IMHO so will be looking to put an M/T motor in her after the Holiday.

The driver has Cervical issues. Maybe he got hired from the MRRC team. He will need to have cervical spine surgery in order to see the road clearly.

I thank Scalextric for bring us this model. It is an iconic car from an iconic era.

I'm with John on this one. We had an MGA (1961 I think), and a Fiat 124 Spyder (1969), and always wanted a Spitfire, but my feet were too big. I would have to drive heel and toe all the time, just like the MGB. The GT6 my friend's wife had, had a bigger foot box, and I could drive it better. But it was a lot newer, and I couldn't afford it.

My feet have had a lot to do with our cars, actually. That's why we have a history of pickup trucks and little cars. The little cars are my wife's (5'-1", 100 pounds), and the big wheels are me (size 13.5 EE, 240 pounds). Thirty years later, the dimensions have changed but the same difference in size rules our car choices.
