TGIF - Hot times

It is going to be a scorcher today. But our "summer" has been a different one. Several cool fronts came through and so far we have had it good.

Some new releases coming in and look forward in getting them here to play with. And have more cars to build as well.

Sunday, I'll certainly watch the Hungarian GP in F1 and the NASCAR race at Indy !

I went salmon fishing yesterday in an excursion boat off our coast. The ocean was rough, the fish weren't hungry and my body is still rocking this morning. This weekend I am working on my 4X8 featherweight, little D oval which has been hanging from a hook on my wall for a couple of years. I will patch her up a bit, add some paint and put her back in service. I love to race my short track round round cars on this track. It is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I have never had lap counting or timing on this track. I reckon it might be time to do that while I am fixing her up.

Another weekend rugged up in front of the fire down here. Might have to spend some time on the track to remind me why I love toy cars. It's been too long.

Tomorrow morning I'll be going to a cars and coffee event at work, then I'll be hanging out with a friend for the rest of the day. On Sunday I'll be heading up to the vintage races at Waterford Hills.

Loooonnnngggg week. Audit prep is loads of joy ;) But at least no one is screaming at me like the old job, so no complaints there!

Wife starts her new teaching job next week (training, getting classroom setup, etc.) so she decided to get the master bedroom painted. That took some prep in the evenings so I'm glad it is done and turned out so well. I also replaced a $5 part in a 3-speed ceiling fan to get it working again. I love it when a plan comes together!

Grilling steak tonight with some onions and mushrooms and a side SALAD. Also, we've decided we are doing a movie night tonight. We DVR'd "Gravity" so that is on the docket.

Need to mow tomorrow morning, mail some resin kits out, and then do a little wiring on the PDR. Hope to have all three lanes powered up by the time I collapse into bed on Sunday evening. My sister and her family and my dad and wife are coming over for a BBQ Saturday night and then off to visit some friends on Sunday.

Oh, and work on a new RMS project some more ;)

It's hot in the Old World too - well at least by our standards. My wife and I just got back from a 4-day paddling trip on the Baltic sea.
I had to splash water over my head continously to keep cool. Can't afford to sweat too much when you carry your own drinking water in the kayak. Lovely time though.

I'm just hangin' around the house this weekend waiting for the storms we're supposed to get. Oh boy maybe some more tree branches will come down. This tree thing has me freaked out. I'll just be glad when the rest of the other tree junk is gone and my fence is fixed. Car wise nothing going on, not that I'm caught up on my projects by any means, just taking a break. :)

Colorado has been in the upper 90's but luckily our "normal" pattern of afternoon showers has resumed after years of absence and cool us down quickly.

Ken - that's why you need to planfully trim or remove trees close to the house. Nothing like a 90 lodgepole pine hitting the house in high winds - been there, done that!

After two weeks of watching my daughter sail, it's my wife's turn. At least it is just the weekend.

Somehow I was able to talk my wife into taking a road trip to Indy for the Brickyard Grandprix on Friday. The weather was unbelievably mild for July in Indiana and we had a great time. Then Saturday we took a day trip to Wisconsin with friends to have a taste of the local culture....

It is about 70 feet per lap. Has Pyramid 22 amp supply, copper tape and 25 ohm Parma controllers. Need to finish the outside of the table and the pit area. Was supposed to have more curves but the Boss said it would be too hard. There are no sweeping fast corners and the sliding area after getting into the turns goes away fast, so you have to drive, not just power through.
