There are a few choices out there. I'm onboard with the Carrera guys. While Carrera is a top notch track it offers you the choice of running 3 scales. I can run 1/43, 1/32 and 1/24. The power needed is different but it does open your fun to lots of different cars. As stated before, I too would take the less expensive route and buy analog. If you find yourself enjoying it, then try digital. It's an absolute blast.

If possible go to hobby store and see the pieces side by side. While IMO, Carrera looks and drives nicer Scalextric does fit more in the space. If you plan to have more space in the future, Carrera may be the way to go.

:text-welcomewave: I don't have much to add that hasn't already been stated but I will add that when I set out to build my track it came down to the limitations of my table size. Since I stuck with a 4 foot table width scaley was the choice for me because of the with and variety of track pieces available. The link Goose provided shows the potential track designs and difference between manufactures check it out lots of options in there.

One last thought, Carrera does offer true high bank track if that is of interest..

Don't let anybody talk you out of digital. I use Carrera track because I think is demonstrably better than Scalextric and I have owned both. The standard Carrera chips are somewhat on the large side, but the new Carrera F1 chip is much smaller, and the Carrera Formula "E" chip is even smaller, so chipping non-Carrera cars is getting easier. There is even an after=market chip maker that has the light on a ribbon to make chip placement even easier. But, be very wary of Carrera's Race App, it is not even close to being ready for prime time.

Welcome, ive been a scaley userfor 10+ years and am very happy with it. Carrera makes a great product, but space was and still is a concern, as well as my local dealer had more scaley than carrera when i first started. Suggest you check out Nor Cal Mikes adventures with scaley digital over on the layout or digital forum. If nothing elso, look at his table construction as an overlY for your pool table.
