Hello Alwyn, like some others, I am not really really surprised at the outcome.......most of my quickest cars (and many of our club members quickest cars) are single piece chassis, or, ones with the pod glued/secured in. On our various wood tracks more and more folks are securing the pods in order that they flex torsionally with main chassis plate, as opposed to "flop".
A good job on both cars !! ....and if you don't mind, a small suggestion for your next build(s). When attaching the axle blocks, it is very helpful to use a chassis jig...this will ensure that both axles are parallel, which, if your front tires do touch the track, is important. On the Fly, the front axle appears to be set to turn the car a touch to the left, and if the fronts do touch the track, this can be detrimental to the handling........so....despite it already being a great car, it may just be able to be a bit better !
Cheers
