Canasta... David, is it the altitude that makes you interested in 1940s and 50s group card games? Maybe that's why you provide such good stuff for a late 1960s hobby? I say, stay up there in the thin air and don't come down. We need you making molds and casting resin! Play all the old fogey card games you can handle, but keep doing what we need for you to do! Do you play Canasta on a Formica Dinette table?

I live in an area with LOTS of retired military folks...that is one group that taught us and we get together once a month. Boys vs. Girls with LOTS of smack-talking. Great food and a nice way to visit.

A few of us closer to our age have also started a once a month version that serves alcohol for those that need it. Not a rowdy group, just a sip or three. Nice folks and two of them are now hooked on slot cars...my plan to take over the world is slowly coming to fruition!

No formica, usually hardwood. Makes it harder to slide the deck across.

Not had a decent game of cards in oh so long. Canasta, Samba (3 deck version of Canasta) or better yet, 500. Grew up on that sort of thing and rather miss it. Nothing wrong with a good meal, a few wines and a game of cards or two. Civilised way to spend an evening.

Waiting on some insert wheels from SCC. Coming to a conclusion on the RevoGram BMW 320i Gr. 5 car with the Racer Sideways Capri chassis. Still needs paint but construction is mostly finished. I will post pics of the group when done. :)
