That looks great! Nice work! I stuck a Scaley Camaro chassis under the 70' Cuda'. Made such a improvement!

Rob

That is a great looking car, a real tribute to the original.

The Mustang arrived and runs great on the oval. Hope to have it on the road course soon. Thanks for everything.

Larry! Good to see ya, bud. And thanks for the comment. Harry is the reason this thing happened. I always thought that model was a drag car with its butt up in the air the way it was. Harry sent me a picture of the car in a Trans Am race, and I took off runnin'.

Rob - maybe you covered this in a prior post, but can you go over the build quickly? Is that a slot car body or a model? What paint did you use? Where did you get the decals?

I just might have to attempt one myself.

I was going to sell some Carrera drag cars I don't need, and I saw serious prices for them on Ebay ($120-$160). But this particular one was selling for half that. Harry spotted that this Camaro was in the group and showed me that it was just on a funky chassis Carrera gave it, that it was actually a Trans Am car. Carrera had it hiked up in the rear for reasons only they know, and I was fooled by it. Anyway, it is an old Carrera, around 2004 or so, and I put a Scaley Camaro chassis under it with some finagling. It runs great. I haven't had a single hit on the other two.

Very well executed Sir, that is the way that car is supposed to look. I'm with you in just presuming it was a drag car, leave it to Harry to set things straight.

Let me chime in and say excellent job! I tried to improve the same with that car on the stock chassis with pour results. Even with the body lowered and proper sized wheels and tires added, that particular Carrera chassis is hopeless. I still have the body laying around. Perhaps I will start looking for alternative chassis for her.
