Picked up this gorgeous Fly M1........

Photography is excellent as always Mark but I know you're a sucker for the M1 mate. I'm in two minds by Fly's decision to team up with Avant Slot. Is this just a way for Fly to rerelease all of its liveries again or is this really a better slot that I should be adding to my line-up?

Interesting that you ask manic - this model is purely a Fly model so nothing different from any of the other fly models. If you look at the rear wheels you will see imperfections which IMHO should not be present on a modern day slot car......

The avant slot cars M1 cars have just been released - I have not heard good things about them to date but I'm still reserving judgement until I actually release a model. I've got an AW on order and will hopefully get to drive that before judging......... I will add that the racing version (AS) version of the M1 is far more expensive $90AUD compared to $70AUD for the OTB Fly model

Even more interesting is the shapeways chassis for the M1 black (17$) or white (15%) which removes the obvious problems with the rear motor mount on these models....... I'm still reserving judgement until I can compare all of the available options........ I am not sure that I'll get around to a fair comparison in the near future..... however I suspect that I'll have a track that provides a fair comparison in the near future......

My bad, thought this was the first of the AV chassis Fly slots. Good look livery and I can see why you added it to your lie-up.

Still looking forward to hearing what the AS Fly runs like...I might just have to purchase one for myself. :)
