This just in from MRE with the report from the Toy Show

Policar confirmed two more versions of the Lotus 72 at Nuremberg, naturally a JPS livery and also the Brooke Bond Oxo car driven by Graham Hill. There are body differences notable in the sidepods and wings, other livery versions can be created from these updates in the future

A prototype of the March was on show, hastily stuck together for display. It has been moulded to allow different sidepods and other parts to be used, so several variations can be produced. The engine detail is different from the Lotus and finely reproduced. The first production cars are yet to be announced, but release is expected before the end of the year.

A new innovation for Policar is the driver detail. Policar are using a helmet molding in clear plastic, a central hole fits over a peg which has driver facial detail moulded on. The helmet is painted and detailed leaving the visor transparent, which can show the drivers face behind a clear visor. We tried to take pictures of this but with clear plastic, refraction, and poor lighting they can only give an impression of the results.

I had the opportunity to run prototypes of the Lotus and they are superb runners. Typical Slot.It quality and performance.

The helmet idea is top-notch -- great for open-cockpit cars.

And the statement they provided is worthy:
"The Lotus 72 is the first new tooling for a Policar slot car after at least 40 years. These pictures show the first pre-production model as displayed in Milano at the Libreria dell'Automobile. We are well aware that some decorations (tampo or decals) and some painting hues (different red) have to be fixed. The British flag is wrong, Ford should be Lotus, and there are some other details (that can't be seen in the pictures) which must be addressed, but this is what you're patiently waiting for. Portrayed on a 1965 Policar original track. This is a complete running prototype."
