The quick and straight forward answer to this is that Parma seems to be in fairly deep trouble. They have not had Death Star motors in about a year, I do not know if they are still selling tires and the pink crown gears are somewhat hard to find at times. I have four or five Parma controllers and one Professor Motor Controller, for my money a good entry level controller would be a Professor Motor Controller.

I have been told by my lds that parma is out of business. I tried to get some controllers last week. Their webpage still seems to be functioning, but maybe he knows something the rest of us don't.

Parma's web site is tough to use as a gauge because they ShopaTron. The product actually comes from retailers who have registered certain levels of stock. We bought some of the last available Champion driver heads this way. We placed the order through the website, and two different slot shops filled our order.
I do know that the old Champion line is being phased out as stock runs out. Most of our divisions run 13D and S can motors, so we're not affected by the 16D issue. Our distributor tells us that many who desire a rebuildable motor are moving towards the ProSlot 4000 series as a Deathstar replacement.

I like my Parmas as they just fit my hand the best. Hope they don't disappear.
