Has anyone bought a set of aluminum wheels for the Carrera Hot Rods. I've looked and can't find anything close to the diameter

Rick, they are the wrong size anyway as far as I'm concerned. Its like that laid-down windshield that looks so silly. The very careful German guys looked at today's TV hotrods on bad television shows and built them, but self-respecting hotrodders don't beat the car up with huge diameter wheels and rubber band tires. That's for selling cars to people who have no idea how to turn a wrench. I promise you, if you built the car from the ground up to drive for your own fun, it will have normal sized wheels and full sidewall tires that give a smooth ride without giving up performance or beating the suspension to death. What I'm saying is go ahead and use 14 or 15 inch wheels and proper tires. I'd stand that windshield up straight, too.

One of the folks I race with has one of the Willys coupes. He's chopped the top and replaced the Giganto Dub-Type wheels with the largest CB wheels...larger tires on the rear and slightly smaller on the front and it looks "correct". I have to concur on the Carrera hot rod "look"; I think they were going for the "Boyd Coddington/Chip Foose" kind of look but it got lost in translation. Just get some big aluminum wheels, hot rod-esque inserts and appropriate tires and you should be good to go.....oh, I second the vote for straightening that windshield!

I should have been more specific, I have a Willys, but it's the same wheel wise. Your 32 does look better with those wheels. I have to check them out. Do you happen to have the dimensions. I'm trying to set the Willys up for the drag proxy. I just took it apart for paint and I had to remove the hood to get at the blower and the rear fenders are separate. Trying to figure out if the rear light bezels come out, the head light bezels did.
Thanks for the input
