Most of you guys know sports car racing history much better than I do, so I would like your help. I would appreciate knowing what cars raced against the Cheetah. I really like the Carrera Cheetah and would like to get some period cars to race against it. I have the Black/Gold #14 Sting Ray by Carrera. What else should I get? Thanks in advance.

I believe the cobras

The Cheetah was actually a special, most of those were one-offs, but 16 Cheetahs were built in all. The Chaparral 1, Scarab and Roger Penske's Zerex Special were raced at the same time. THe original Cheetah was built in 1962.

My experience is that the Cheetah is the quickest of the group by a good bit.

Cobra (which is why we'd done the Cobra at the same time), Porsche 904 (which is why i'd pushed to release it as a single car and not just in the 50th anniversary set as was the original plan), the Corvette Stingray (which is handy since I was able to bring that mold back)....
