One of my many projects for the long weekend was to get my Lexan bodied Shadow uo and running. I painted the body and wing months ago but only recently found a suitable interior and Struts for the wing..
The Shadow is mounted on a HRS2 chassis With standard orange bell motor. It runs better than it looks.

122 views and no replies... Is it THAT bad?
I'm certainly no artist but I do enjoy adding cars to my collection that aren't otherwise available. The Shadow is a work in progress as I need to find suitable wheels or inserts and a few other touches...
It certainly does run well enough now. It handles very well and has enough speed to run with the Slot.it McLarens and Chaparral.

No worries QC, its the day after the long weekend .
Love the Shadow, a very unique car with a unique history.
What model is it, the DN2 or ?
Where did you find the decals ?
The paint looks right on target too.

Great work Paul!!, looks like you are assembling a nice Can Am field.
Now if we could only get someone to do the following kit in 1/32.......this is a DN2 from a Jens scale racing kit (pics., pinched from his site). Sadly, Dieter Jens only does 1/24 kits, and what is more frustrating, is that he does a really good variety of Can Am cars, and they are all gorgeous.
There were a few 1/32 resin DN2's and 4's done a few years back (I bought 1 of each), but they were hideous, and went straight into the bin............lets keep hoping!
Cheers
Chris Walker

I did manage to pick up the PSK DN2 Kit from ED. 1/32 scale
It isnt a bad kit but leaves some things to be desired.
Resin body painted , nice job, but not the rear air foil.
No decals in the kit.
For the price they should have these issues rectified.
Such an intriguing car.

Nice build QC. But since no one else mentioned it I must ask, did those two dudes get hurt very bad where the chassis ran over them? Nice track also.

Wow Chris, awesome work as usual! The Shadow is going to get some suitable inserts soon and some more finishing touches as I study pics of the 1-1 car. It looks great running with the Chappy and McLarens. I guess the limited liveries make it too expensive for a major to produce this car. What a shame...
Hey Cobra, that's what happens when you don't limit the "adult beverages" on race day!

I've been turning over rocks trying to find accurate info on that '71 MKII....(That's what the lexan body is)... I will do that car in 3D....
Fingers crossed I get an email back from Mr Shadow himself.... Specs are hard to come by on the internet for some reason.... A few cars have been made in different scales - but I want it closer to accurate....
Shadow switched out designers for '73 - so cars after that had DN designations...
The DN2 is the swoopy car from '73 - the DN1 was the F1 car....

I built a 1/32 DN2 a while back using a Betta vacuum formed body and i think it came out pretty well:

I used the CBD "stock car" wheels, what do you think?

Dennis, that looks great! I really like that model too. Might be my next build. I wish someone would do these in Resin

PSK, hmmm. I'll have to check those out. Fairly certain those are in the $100 range for just the body and decals, right?
