As for painting them, I got one of the orange one's on eBay. Primed and made a nice white car.

I had this same conversation with him just this morning.

When they announce the "surprise" coming, I am pretty sure many of us here will be VERY happy.

Yet I am pretty happy right now with what just came off the last container.

I finally sold off the last of my Artin chassis a couple of years ago. It was like the end of an era was happening in my slot car cabinet. I miss Frank and family. I used to feel a little guilty for taking my time talking on the phone with them for so long when making a purchase. They were just a little ways down the road from me in Texas, and I used to get the lowdown on what was going on back there after I moved away. Frank was a big help with advice about restoring the old commercial track I own.

Nice of you to put all the news about this out in one spot, Harry. It should save people time.

Well I dont post much any more but I loved the Artin brand, I was here when many people (on other sites) were bad mouthing the brand not knowing anything about it which led to some interesting threads to say the least.
Bought some really cheap brand new cars off of ebay as some were getting rid of there stock back then. My Artin supply will out last me I am sure. Carrera is filling the void nicely.

I can't think of ever having more fun than when my nephews and I raced fender to fender for hours with a four car batch of Artin stockers on my American Thunder Oval. I took that same set up to the Boys & Girls Club many a time and those cars took all the beating that those kids could meet out. They were that tough. And those cars still run today although I will have to replace the tires when I bring them back out again. I have one of each color of the stockers and I will never get rid of them. I could take those same cars, or any other Artin car, over to my wood track and race them no mag right out of the box or should I say plastic bag since I only bought one Artin car that came in a factory jewel case. I still race some of their DTM cars with a couple of friends on my wood track and they are ever bit as much fun as racing any other matched set of cars that I own. The stock tires even stick pretty good on the particle board surface of my road track.

I live by Artin. When you run races for kids you can't beat them.
The only thing is the tires are wearing out. I will have to do some investigating to find replacements.
Out will come the calipers and see what I have.

I answered that in your tire request. PG 22103 is a great fit for the Stocker wheel. SCC has them.

Get ahold of Paul - those 22103's will be perfect!

I haven't given up on Artin either! I haven't been able to have a track, or race for a couple of years due to a life induced move, but I am starting to set up a track again. I have access to a small den, and I will be able to set something up at about 12' long, with an "L" shape. I have some 8' "Church tables" to set it on, and I am getting excited to get things rolling again. One neat thing about Artin is the deep slot. You can run Carrera guides on it. It does take a couple of extra jumpers to keep the power consistent, but the surface is nice and smooth. I do use some "U" channel to cover the groove between lanes 2 and 3 when I make a four lane setup. It is really great track. Someday, the lack of replacement parts and support will drive me to Scalextric or Carrera track, but for about fifteen years, or so, Artin has been great. I will set up a small 4 lane road course with Trakmate timing and have a lot of fun again!

When it came to bang for the buck, Artin was hard to beat.
Rolling chassis was about $17.99. Stockers were about $24.00.
Good selection, even with lights, Skinnys, Fat Boys, and Stockers all in chassis's.
Then the DTMs. It was a fun time that didnt break the bank, and let newbie builders start with a decent
platform .
