Great job Bob. I was hoping for a good "field report" and you accomplished that.

Thankyou Bob,Nearly pressed the buy it button the other night myself but instead went for a Pioneer Po29 mustang with the red wheels which had been on my want list for a while,Have been waiting for the Corvette though and it will be my first MRRC clubman kit when I do get it.
Cheers,
Nige.

Bob,
The car looks really cool. How does it run?
Best regards,
Brian

With the 25k rpm motor it runs like a scalded puppy and it needs additional weight. But it also comes with 18k and 16k rpm motors that, if used, make it much more controllable. Since it has bronze bushings, aluminum set screw hubs front and rear and a guide that is more like what you would find on a 1/24th scale car it is very smooth to drive.

Mine arrived the other day and I finally got to open it last night.
In addition to the clubman kit, I also ordered an extra body without chassis that may or may not end up on a Carrera chassis. As Bob said, these are almost identical size-wise to the Carrera '67.
A word of caution to those ordering the body only kit; MRRC states that it comes with a set of wheel inserts but it does not. I did order a set of the stock Corvette wheel inserts separately so I can make both a race and street version.

Thank you Bob for this review. My purchase list is very limited these days but this kit has moved right up to the top of the list.

I'd completely forgotten they had three motors!
Anyone know if they still plan to do RTR's of this in addition to the kits?

I think the RTR's will be on the sebring chassis and come as street cars.

It was brought up on another forum that this body might be a repop of the original Revell 63 Vette. I checked out images of the Revell body and I am pretty sure this MRRC body is new. The original Revell body has molded on details like windshield wipers and door handles whereas the new body has separate parts. Also this body has the look of a new fresh mold.
