Well what a week. Been a busy one around the old Skunkworks to say the least. New track table build finished as well as some progress on several builds.

Still have to finish a few this coming week so need to get cracking. Site is updated and working on forum tweaks here and there as needed.

We are enjoying a rainy spell here in NW California. The indoor weather means that for the first time in weeks, I have first unencumbered time in weeks. I am looking through my box of spare Scalextric track pieces because I am going to try setting up a digital oval track. I'll just chip some Scaley Nascars to start. If I like it, I will try building some moded digital roundy rounders. The key for me is Scaley's ghost car feature. I want to get a bunch of magneted drone cars going round and round my little oval while I pick my way through traffic with my human piloted no magnet car.

I'm actually trying to get my track cleaned off so I get some trigger time in.

Heard from our realtor; appraisal and inspection are done, closing probably the week before Christmas (yuck!) then 30 days to get moved! Had a moving company out to give us an estimate :scared-eek: , looks like some more, serious, weight loss will be involved. Looks like 2 months of no slots and lots of hectic action coming up.

Working on a project that is taking me forever. A CAD model for 3d printing.

It is based on a 3D gaming model. It has to be extensively modified to add the wall thickness and such. Late last night it finally produced a printable stl file. I added post to attach to a Carrera Nascar chassis. The hood is separate, as I plan to make a street and race hood. The trim around fenders and windshield were made larger to be more noticeable and easier to paint. I made the wall thickness 2mm, even though the Carrera bodies are 1.5mm. I just figured it should be made tough to avoid breaking in a crash.

I will post pictures of the printout when finished. The computer says 9 hours and 50 minutes, so keeping my fingers crossed.

Making HO foam/silicone tires for upcoming season. The dust is flying in the RV Racing workshop! Fortunately I have good help.

Just back from a mini-vacation with some brass in hand. Time to heat up the irons.

Just got back from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Mayo, MD.
Had at least 25 heats with 4 kids per heat with a Crash and Burn after each heat.
It was a Breakfast with Santa. We at the track didn't have time for Breakfast. From the gun until the turned the lights off it was go, go, go.
We are tired but very happy.
Starting to get ready for next Saturdays' Breakfast with Santa at the Knights of Columbus Hall for the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. The following Saturday we will be at the Library, just up the street.

Sunday is my big day. I look forward to it each year.
I pick my grandson up and we are heading to the Belleville Model Train and Hobby Show (slotcars)
The little guy is a natural. I watch some little ones and they press the plunger and look straight ahead.
My little guy actually watches the car as it goes atound the track, I think thats a good sign.
Then he gets to pick his favorite restaurant for Lunch. East Side Marios,,, yep kids get free dessert and he picks the three icecream cones , and he shares with Poppa. Wonder what I can find for his Carrera 143 set.

I disassembled the Artin track last week to prepare table for a routed track. Never used a router before, so it should be interesting. Finalizing the layout, then the dust will fly. May have a bunch of track for sale.
