Seeing the recent auction go so well and seeing many of you taking the time to share your expertise with others is priceless.
Thank ALL OF YOU for making our little hole in the web a great resource for others.
There are some that are facing tough times these days, we wish them well and that better days lie ahead.
Finishing up reviews and site updates. Tonight we shop :)

In San Louis Obispo California to spend Christmas with our youngest daughter, her fiance, and his folks in their home. We went to Hearst Castle yesterday. That is one fine weekend crash pad! Best wishes to you all and to those who are hurting, I would like to double the dose of good tidings.

Happy Holidays everyone!
Like ShotgunDave I too will be buying a 1:1 car for my wife.
Our 2002 Ford Escape is in its twilight days with a rusted out lower front subframe at 150K. Time to finally replace the girl. I'm very sad about this because it has been a very good SUV since purchasing new. I have been without a car payment since 2008 when I paid it off. Time to bite the bullet and buy new again. Looking at purchasing a new Chevy Equinox for my wife. I'm wondering if when I buy it should I park it in the drive way with a big red bow on it for her for Christmas like a lot of the commercials running now?! I hate the thought of car payments again but with having 2 2002 cars currently it is time to upgrade...... :D :D :D
God bless you all and have a safe Happy Holidays!!!!
Wayne (Bolton's Speed Shop) :D :D :D

Strange Christmas here. My wife's car came up with an alternator complaint, which should have been an hour's work, but AAAAUUUUGGGHHH!!! Its a Honda and those tiny little Japanese fingers are so much smaller than mine, it took 2 hours just to get it out. I will fight it back in, now that it has new guts, when it finally stops raining. Meanwhile, my friend, the big blue whale Buick Roadmaster I love so much, blew its transmission a couple of nights ago. At 20 years old, and 200,000+ miles, it is hard to complain. But I am studying, and I may rebuild it (overhaul), myself. Hard to trust someone else to do something so expensive and critically important as a transmission on my baby. It still hovers near 30mpg, will do 110mph for hours with 4 big men and 400 pounds of tools in the trunk, so I'm keeping it no matter what I have to do. My Big Blue Whale and I are sympatico! In the meantime, we have no wheels, so my son coming in is very convenient!
So, with my eldest son and his beautiful girl coming in tonight, and my youngest getting more and more healthy at last, my wife and I have been cleaning house like maniacs. Not as easy as it used to be. We are still trying to get the Christmas cards out. We're getting old fast. In the middle of all this, I finally am making progress selling my HO stuff. It has been starts and stops, and lots of email back and forth, but I think I see light at the end of that tunnel. I still have all that 1/24th stuff to sell, but it can wait until after all the rest of this is done. Frankly, I need the space to rebuild that giant transmission. The only way I get through a job like this is to lay out the parts in order on long tables covered with towels. I haven't worked on one for over 20 years, so I have a lot to learn.
Merry Christmas, guys. Stay happy, and spread some to the ones you love. Like HRW guys and their families!

A day late to the party as usual. Happy Holidays, everyone.
Now I sit and wait, starting at the slotcar-shaped presents under the tree....

Merry Christmas to all!
It has been a crazy year. I am very thankful for my friends here that keep everything in perspective for me.
Dave - nice Beetle! Just don't get those eyelash add-ons I keep seeing...woof!
Working today, church this evening, and going to my sister's for Christmas. Going to be a tough one, but good to be with family. No slot cars under the tree except one crude RMS Resins Corvair with a BEAUTIFUL scratch built, sidewinder chassis from Wise Engineering. That thing is freaky fast and smooth! Paint commences this weekend!

Got a couple of Sprint cars yesterday. a used one from Steve (Sadco), and a brandy spanking new one from Hot Laps Racing. Both are gorgeous!! Looks like I'll be busy playing with these 2 over the weekend. I'll post pics in the Oval section soon... :auto-checkeredflag: :auto-checkeredflag:
