Porsche Cayman GT4

Porsche is reported to be planning to homologate the new Cayman GT4 for no fewer than 4 different series in 2016 and there was a Cayman class in GT4 a couple of years ago. Does anyone know if one of the major manufacturers plans to produce a Cayman GT4 in the near future? I know that Graham White (British Slot Bodies) makes a very nice resin body, but I was wondering about an injection molded plastic body/chassis.

I haven't seen anything about slot car manufacturers coming out with a Cayman GT4 yet, but it's a very new model and would be a very good choice. I'll bet that, depending upon the circuit chosen, the 1:1 version will be quicker than any of the 911 variants.

Hmmmmm.....interested in Caymans......wonder why? There's a Shoreline team member who would have a keen interest in this too.

It just seems that a car that looks like this should find its way into the production plans of one of the major manufacturers:

Or, even better, the Caymans that ran the Rolex 24 GX class at Daytona a couple of years ago:

Yes I would buy the 1st one only if it's a inline setup

I'm hoping Scaleauto will do one in 1/32 and if it went as good as their BMW Z4 it'd be a keeper.

Scaleauto would be a good idea, but I'm still thinking Carrera, since the IMSA Continental Tire Challenge is sort of like a US version of the DTM class in Europe; with both the GS and the ST divisions. Although, on the other hand, Scalextric has a lot of the GS class cars covered now, so a car like the ST Cayman GT4 could fit there, too. Or Ninco, or................(?) ;)

Beautiful cars. In future times I believe people would look back at these and identify them as a classic.

Maybe Carrera will build a 1/43 scale one

Until then I have these.

Those Caymans are really good looking, BARC-1.

There's also a resin body from BSB that's available in 1/32 scale:

But, I really wish that one of the major manufacturers would pick up this car; I think it would make a great racer.
