The extra pod that comes with those SCX Pro cars is made to fit an FT-180 long can motor. I have one with a Sloting+ motor in it and it runs a lot better that the Pro SCX motor. Any of the long can motors should work, Ninco, Slot.it Boxer, NSR King, etc. A word of warning, always run SCX Pro wheels with the stock inserts. The aluminum is weak and the wheels will bend from a hard shunt, but the insert helps keep them true.

The SCX pro cars have always been some of my best performers....particularly the Audi with an FC-130 installed........the supplied pod for the FC-180 has holes to allow the motor to be screwed in.......just bolt in your favorite FC-130!!
Cheers

I've got the same car Bob although the motor has been replaced with a 25k SCX motor and Slot.It rear hubs and it's a flyer. The version after this came out with the hotter 25k motor but these unfortunately did not. There's a guy on epay that sells quite a bit of SCX stuff where I got my motors from

I installed an older slot.it orange endbell FC130 and the difference was pronounced. The FC130 is past it's prime but still probably puts out about 90% of what it did in it's prime. I'm glad I decided to try this particular SCX car again.

We found that "trapping" the pod so it doesn't move too much front to back helps make the car faster.

Hah! I found them! These are the prototypes they sent me to test. My uncle and I used them in a few cars and tached them and I think I remember that they were over 30k rpm. They have neo-magnets inside so the brakes are WAY too much... this motor has NO "coast" to it when you let off the power the car stops dead in place if I remember right. We concluded that they were way too much for the average person to drive and overall the reaction to the cars would have been bad.
I asked that the change in motors be made before the Pro Porsche came out. The Pro Audi came out in the first year or so when I worked for SCX and I wasn't involved in that project. But for the rest of the Pro cars I tried to tweak the Pro Porsche and the Pro Nascars when they were released. I had big plans for the Pro line but I left SCX so I didn't get to continue with that series.
