That's exactly why I don't have any of those cars. Like the looks and history, but not the breaky parts. I'll admire from a distance. :)

I only race the Carrera and Scaly F1 cars' because their front wings come off. Their not fixed glued on. Yes that one would stay in the box. indybob

Can always buy a diecast version. No temptation.

It sure does look nice, I'd never race it myself either...

Same here as most of you. F1 has never been one of my favorite racing classes anyway. From the 60's to now there has been something on F1 slot cars that just won't take the punishment. I have a very few of these and they don't even get driven much, let alone raced.

we have been racing all the new vintage f1 cars at 9 to 10 volts (this changed everything) with no problems. they are now one of our favorite classes.

I suppose it would work if you ran it real slow.

Mine will be driven in anger, with the new Plastic chassis from Shapeways and the Policar motor pod designed for it.
Same with the Renault chassis for it too. And as for the wing, a little thin music wire and an epoxy coat underneath should help stabilize it during common impacts.
Too nice not to race.

You guys keep calling that a front wing. Up in the frozen north we call that a snow plow.. ;)

Drive em!.......race em!.........after a few laps they will look just like the real thing!!!! :D

PS The Ferraris' were sent out minus the front wing for practice during the 79 Monza GP.....(although they raced with them).......so......you could kinda sorta say that leaving the front wing off was somewhat realistic ;)
Cheers
