Race Coordinater shut down

I have a 1/32 routed track and I am using Race Coordinater. My track power randomly shuts down while the race or practice program keeps running. I've changed computers, relays, double checked all wiring. Does anyone know what might cause this ?

Does the screen just go black? If so you may have the computer just going to sleep after a given time. Just turn off the screen power saver.

You say that the track power shuts down. Does this happen at a specific moment or does it happen randomly? What port do you use? Parallel, serial, game or arduino?

I used parallel port. It seems to happen randomly when racing or in practice. The only consistent thing is it happens when cars coast to a stop on the dead strip. I can also make it happen by pushing cars across the dead strip by hand.

What reaction does RC have when this happens? Yellow flag maybe?

RC continues on as if nothing has happened. No yellow flag the clock keeps counting up or down.

How do you then fix it?
If RC does not respond on the power cut, then the problem seems else where.
If you switch the pc off and race without pc laptiming, do you experience the same?
Are you using the latest version of RC or is it an older version, if so what version?

Where does the relay get its power? The power to the relay coil, not the power to the track. If the power to the relay coil comes directly from the computer that could be your problem. If you want to power a relay directly from your computer you should use a solid state relay such as this one.
