With the Show-Me back in action it's finally back to some level of normal around here :)

Have a few reviews to work on as well as some tuning projects well overdue. Of course we all have that feeling.

Seems to be a little bit of everything going on around here. More new tracks, project models, tuning...I am enjoying catching up.

Want to thank all of you again for the support in the latest auction, cannot tell you how much we appreciate your efforts.

Hope all of you have a fun weekend, and find time for some slot cars.

Back to normal is right. Flying out of London this afternoon and looking forward to seeing if any more Ford-Ferrari Wars cars have showed up. It's been a week - I need a slot car fix! ;)

Work today. Watching my daughter sing karaoke tonight with some friends. She usually brings the house down so that will be fun!

Dentist appointment on Saturday for a cleaning. The good news is my dentist rocks (hey! She's open on a Saturday!) and she gives whiskey shots if you need them...no joke!

Sunday we are running the last leg of the T/A proxy at Coyote Gulch and then shipping the cars to Bob in Georgia! Should be a great time. Sadly, Mr. Morton's 510 is out of the race as I determined making the necessary changes to the car would constitute major rebuilding and that is a no-no after tech. So, the 'Vair will soldier on by itself.

We are also hosting a special guest for dinner Sunday night and if I get permission, I'll post pics - Austin's 13 year old brother and his entire family are coming over for dinner and a "little" racing. I've already been warned he probably won't leave the basement the whole time...like I need an excuse!!! If he takes to it, there's a car he will be going home with.

Putting my 1:1 327 Chevy Studebaker back together.........Tore into all the under dash wiring looking for a short to ground.

Harry, you guys will have that track rubbered in in no time. As for me I'm temporarily headed the other way of normal. The Mrs. is going off for a weekend retreat on the coast with her book club. A break bringing unusually nice weather after ten days of heavy El Nino rain has led me to start tearing out some aging decking on my house to be rebuilt from the ground up. The rain is supposed to be back by tomorrow afternoon which will bring me back indoors for a couple of days. I am tuning & digitizing an IROC of 6 Artin 911 Porsches to share with newbies on my portable SSD track. 4 are done, 2 more to go. I also need to add some guard rails and catch fencing to said track.

Hopefully I can get some projects done this weekend without too many other important projects that just need to be done.
To answer Strangebrew's reverse charge, yes I've seen those batteries charged backwards when people replaced a battery and forgot to polarize their generator. It was funny how many wouldn't believe that and would argue the point why the amp meter was showing a discharge the last time they had it running but the starter wouldn't engage the next time they tried to start it. :lol:

Doing some detail work on my "garage/shelter" and pits....pics to follow. Concentrating on the scenery right now.

Going to start pressure washing the back deck on this house (it has never been washed or sealed since the house was built 10 years ago). Have some repair to do as well....prior tenants had dogs that chewed on the deck rails!
Have given up on washing the cars until the yellow pollen stops blowing! (Note to self: Put black car in garage during next pollen season!) :doh:

Back to normal ? yep...and not thrilled...lol Just got back from a couple of weeks in Florida . Harry thanks for posting all your updates on the rebuild of your track . It was the only slot car fix I could get while being out of town . It looks great pal . Nice job you and anyone involved did on bringing new life into a great oval .

Brew, I wouldn't have thought it was possible to do that. Was it Interstate? Around here, Exide has improved a lot, and Interstate has just gone to crap.

As soon as I installed the battery the fusable link blew.
I hadn't driven it for a couple of weeks, so I didn't notice the link right away, that why I was chasing a ground through the wiring.
It's an HEI ignition with a 1 wire alternator, so the "generator" wasn't an issue.
Never thought about checking polarity 'till day 2.

I use to work for a RV dealer and we would go through 20 batteries a week in the busy part of the season, I have seen this a few times of batteries charged backwords
