This Porsche might mean little to some, but for me it's just a cool car that has been a long time in the making. For me, this model is what really brought Slot.it to the forefront of the 1/32 "ready to run" part of our hobby. Yes, the Audi was technically the first car. But it wasn't until the Canon and Kenwood pair of these cars were released that many enthusiasts took the plunge and discovered what Slot.it was capable of.

So it is like a trip down slot car memory lane for me.









Was fortunate enough to have a quick discussion with Maurizio of Slot.it about the life of this car.
Although it might appear the same, there is hardly anything from the original releases on this latest one. Aside from a few clear parts, the rest is all new molds.



This has the older orange endbell motor but no matter.



I like these PG tire sizes for this car. I used the "FolkArt" brand acrylic paint #414 Cardinal Red for the tire markings. It seemed to match the color of the original Yokohama markings.

I ordered mine yesterday, so should be here early next week.
The capturefor me , aside from the slot it factor is the livery, it just looks plain cool.
And it reminds me of old Harry Gant when he raced the Nascar Skoal Bandit. I liked it too.
As for the motor, unless I am racing in anger I usually down grade to 15 or 18 k so I can enjoy the ride.

I thought these two new cars, Skoal and Camel were suppose to have the "new" motor even though they say there is no difference? :roll:

There is no difference. I bench tested this one as well as the new one and about as close as it gets.

The Camel car does have the new motor.

Yes I read all that. It's like saying your 305 Chevy v8 years ago actual produced 350 numbers, we just never updated it lol

In my opinion, think about using the Piranha motor as a standard. Half the price of Slot.its, and pretty even specs for a fair fight.

Then you could use a lot more of the current models without spending $$$ on motors.

Great idea. I run at a local track, no home track right now. We run group c stock motor and starting next month their also going to have an open group c class. Probably run the black flat 6, as the torque and rpm is about the best for their track (sidewinder raceway).
That black 6 is a good motor imo, and from my posts it's pretty clear I'm no fan of slot it Redball end motors. I actually like the scale auto 20k 216t motor.

Well, I can't predict anything. As more people get the new motors and others bench test, the findings will be the proof. My motor was just a shade shy of 21K. But as the brushes seat and it breaks in, it will likely be very close to the 23K spec it is stamped with.

But I will have to disagree peacefully and say that Slot.it has done a great deal for this hobby and this certainly isn't enough to cause that level of discredit to them as a whole.

I'm sure the more advanced racers will be reporting their own motor reports soon. I'll let those reports be the judge.
