They are some fun little cars. I always liked the motor in these and the other classics. Fast enough to be driven, milder to match the car.

Great choice!
I have the orange one with the checkerboard roof, only mod is a Ranch Design rear. I have it to run against my other "SLCs", SCX SEAT 850, Scaley Cortina with a BWA slim can and my Artin chassis Bugeyes......loads of fun!
That Ebay vendor is exceptional, PBANDJIMM has always given me outstanding service.

Under $40 for a new car is good enough, but these Abarths are so much fun to run, its an even better deal. I had a duplicate of one of the Abarths years ago and painted it purple metallic and silver, just for the heck of it. It turned out great. I'm still getting compliments on that little rascal. I pull it out when anyone comes here talking about the SLC cars. There's a stack of them in the cabinet.

These are fun little cars. Congrats on your find! SCX really knows how to make functional models in this odd little class of tiny, tall and narrow track vehicles. They run surprisingly well despite the unfavourable proportions. Here's a SEAT 850 that they released a few years ago.

That's another goodie. I didn't get enough of the Seats when they came out. Now I regret it.

I have one of those, too. The only change I made was a set of Shotgun's urethane 1/43 Artin slicks on the rear (near perfect fit with just a little trimming and truing).

Nice pick Mr. Balsa.
Here is my favorites of the "SLC" series from them.

Possibly the ugliest, yet the most fun to drive on our track.

I like the SCX Seat! I have a little collection of the small cars. What fun to race!

Small cars, that's what got me going on scratch building.
Wider rears have helped my little scratch builds keep up with the Slot Its, so I expanded the arches on this earlier Gulf version.

Turned out well, but in hindsight, I think I should have widened the front arches to balance the look.

Hey Boss, Is that the wheels you take to the Hobby Shop when you need just a few things and need them quick?

Thanks for the heads up, scored one. I had one on pre-order for a long, long time and the site never got any. I love these little ones.
