Does Resistant Scaley Challenger have separate glass?

Postby Nor Cal Mike » Mon Jul 18, 2016 2:46 pm

I am in process of assembling a modern era Trans Am class of T/A 2 pony cars. I have Mustangs and Camaros well represented but I have no Mopar to add to the mix. No one makes the late model Dodge Challenger as a slot car. I am thinking that the historic 70's Challenger done by Scalextric could be turned into a close enough facsimile to the modern car by filling in the bumpers and creating an integrated air dam in the front panel such as modern race cars use. The black windowed, red and black Challenger can be had at an affordable price so I am thinking about getting one. My question for you all is does this car use a separate black window inserted to the body or is the windshield and body cast as one with the windows being only tampo printed?

Of the Ninco 1 cars that I am using for this project, the Mustang has a separate black window but the Camaro windows are tampo printed on a one piece body. It matters to me because I eventually plan to replace the black glass with clear, vacuformed repops of the original glass. Having an removable original makes that task much easier.

Edit: Changed title to reflect question. Surely somebody ought to know the answer.

Thanks,
Mike
