Jules I think we would all enjoy more info on the process of making cars if you had time to add some more. (or start a new thread) I would like to know more about how the tyres are made...amongst other things
Thanks for sharing.
I also think lots of people were thinking they would be more than happy to sort through that dumpster - if they could keep the odd part or two :)

This is the first time 'dumpster diving' really appeals to me. If I had access a couple of garbage bags of goodies would be coming home to play with.
I appreciate Carerra being able to sell good slot cars for $32, but I also know other quality manufacturers couldn't stay in business at that price, and think variety is essential to our hobby. That's why I have a handful of Carerra cars and about 2 dozen Pioneer cars.
Considering what it can cost to go out to dinner these days, spending $50 - $80 on a well built slot car isn't unreasonable. And, it last a lot longer.

Jules are you spraying anti-rust on your tooling? just asking as I see a lot of rust.
Love the how-its-made stuff

Saw the X-ray cars at Harry's, thought they were cool for the collectors, reminded me of the old Revell Phantom P-51 kit. This is what is great about the hobby, there is something for everyone's taste.
