What a week. Not much time for anything lately, but hopefully this weekend will give me a chance to get some things done around here.

With grand kids on the way for a overdue visit, I bet the old SkunkWorks will be busy :P
Hope you all get some trigger time as well.

Bob, that track is going to be epic!
I just "tested" a few stairs before the head nurse caught me and it looks like if I go slow I can get downstairs for some trigger time on Saturday. Not sure I'll be up for more than that but I'll be happy as my new 1957 Chevy showed up!

I am coming off from a month of extraordinary events including the marriage of our youngest daughter. I am looking forward to things returning to normal which will allow me to return to my new track construction and building some cars. I saw that somebody Ebay is selling some SRC Porsche 914-6 bodies pretty cheap so I bought one last night. I hope to make her into a modern SCCA type car. I also have a Porsche 928 body of unknown origin that has been waiting for over a year me to get around to it. Perhaps these will get similar chassis and running gear to run as a pair.

Thanks guys tonight we are gluing the sections together , perfect joints all routed square, no saw used, just amazing what i am learning from my friend .
Tomorrow the risers and elevation go in, then the supports for the extensions and borders
Sunday paint and a smidge of bondo over the seams.
Another week and she will be powered up yahoo, its seems like ages to me since i had a dungeon track , well i guess it has been since late January .

Got a busy weekend ahead of me of spreading some chips over the yard that I chipped up last weekend. Hopefully I'll find time to whip out the sand paper and continue working on a body I just printed out a couple of weeks ago. Sure is a slow process.

Decided to make it look like a standard body style instead of the Futura since my Dad had the standard body style that I learned to drive around a small Midwestern town. I also plan on hitting up the knowledge base here at HRW to see if I should cut out the windows or leave them a thin plastic for a resin mold. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great slottin' weekend.

Well, I managed to get to the basement and up/down the stairs ok this morning. I spent about 15 minutes to get the wheels trued up, the body dropped and the tires from Shotgun glued on with nail polish. When it is dry I'll get them trued up and turn some laps. Felt great to get to the shop!!!

They look great David , glad you are enjoying some time in the race room.
I would think that is what the Doc , ordered
Here is what was accomplished on ,y new track today.
All track pieces glued together , ready for risers etc etc , just put a couple of blocks to reflect the underpass.

More tonight and tomorrow. Borders and very little bondo plus the elevations and paint for the rest of this weekend.
Next TGIF is electrics

It was an exciting first weekend of the Targa 2 Proxy. All the cars, except one local and one late entry out of towner, were put through their paces for qualifying yesterday afternoon, with good signs that this should be a very close series. For any of you who don't know about this proxy, the Greater Vancouver Slot Car Club, GVSCC, is a group of racers that race every Friday evening on Luf's Targa and Burnaby Grind Hillclimb tracks, and every Monday at tracks owned by other club members. We have about 20 regulars who may appear on any given race night with an average of 10-12 out per session. This proxy is held on club tracks only, so there are no shipping delays or costs between races, and seven events later the cars go home.
I set a personal best twice yesterday while qualifying, a 7.285, where my previous best was 7.481 with my MRSlotcar McLaren. This time was set by Chris Walker's beautiful brass chassied Chevron, and then matched by Ron Todhunter's basically stock Thunderslot Lola T70 Mk III. While these two were well up on the rest of the class with my driving, I expect several of the cars in Class B to challenge them for top honours when the racing starts next weekend. I anticipate some track record breaking times.
In my case I really said TGIF, as I have been waiting over six months since this proxy was announced.
Cheers,
Keith
