So that what folks did on the weekends before cable tv and the internet. looks like they really got into there slot cars back in the day.

It's great to see how it was and how far we've come.

today's cars would probably do at least 3 laps to their one

I have no doubt they were having just as much fun as we do today.

Fortunately a tie and sport coat are no longer needed to be a serious, competitive slot racer.

How did they count laps back then ?
Were there spotters yelling out positions ?

And BTW - that's exactly how we dress while racing at HRW - except we are a little less politically correct - I usually am sporting a smoking jacket and pipe depending on heat. Harry as Host is usually in a long tailed tux...
