I'm moving to the greater Los Angeles area in a week or so. Are there any posters on this forum in the LA area? Any clubs?
Let me know.

I'm in Orange County, to the south of LA itself. Let me know exactly where you will be located and I can advise. There are a few options depending on your exact location.

Initially in Rialto. Moving to W. Covina or Fontana in June. I will be working in downtown Los Angeles.

LOL, thanks for the replies fellas. Looking forward to having someone to race with again. The NY club died a couple of years ago. The NJ crowd is going strong but that would be a REALLY long commute!
I'll touch base in a week or so when I hit town permanently.

I lived in Rialto for 23 years before moving to Northern Nevada in 2004. I commuted to Pasadena (yes it is away from LA, but gives you an idea of how long it will take) for 16 of those years and it took at least an 1 to 1/12 in the morning and sometimes longer at night. If you decide to live in Rialto or Fontana and will commute to downtown LA the train will be your best bet. If you decide to use your car get some good music and a car with an automatic.

Buena Park has an active commercial track with drags and road courses. There is a hard body club racing there and the drags get competitive.
I live near the track and have raced there and with Dennis at Farrout in Glendale. Great group of guys and gals racing 1/32 on a series of wood and plastic track.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I just made it in yesterday. Made the trip in 2 1/2 days!
A bit of advice, don't ever take this trip in the winter. The Rockies are positively frightening at night. Snow drifts, icy high winds, NO lights on the highways, frozen roads, avalanche warning signs....Sheesh.
