Will a 0.5mm offset pod let me run bigger rear tires with lower ride height than stock?
Can I use Stock crown gear or do I need offset style with this pod?
Group C Slot.it Nissan.
Thanks.

Assuming this is an older black pod, 0 offset. The newer ones come with .5 offset pod. Watch out for tire rub in body as wheels are closer to body, and bigger od tires.

Hi Flem1959, I think you'll find that the Slot.It Group C Nissan comes stock with an 0.5mm offset IL pod. You can use straight crown gears with that offset.
You can increase the offset by going to either 0.75mm or 1.0mm pods. With these pods, you are apt to be better off using the offset crown gears. Each higher number pod will put the rear of the chassis closer to the ground. The height of the rear axle will always be determined by the diameter of the tires, the higher number offsets, effectively, move the rear axle "up" with regards to any wheel/tire diameter.
Hope this helps.

Yes the Nissan is offset .5 mm, i find the offest crown runs smoother at this offset too.

I am asking about the pods because I want to use bigger rear tires and raise the axle to compensate for increased diameter. I have a newer Nissan R89C. What's the most offset pod I can use with stock chassis?

You can use any of the pods. I guarantee you will have rub issues with the 1mm offset pod and bigger od tires.
