I had a race this weekend. The Church told me to expect 1-200 kids.
I took out all my Artin cars and a few of my other brand cars which were able to be crashed without falling apart. Tested the motors and then the tires.
Oh poop. The tires were slick and hard on quite a few. I had no time to order tires or pay for them. What to do?
In my junk cabinet I had a can of Performix Liquid Tape. It is a spray on insulation coating. What ever...
I took a sheet of glass, cleaned it, and wiped down all the rear tires with lighter fluid. Then sprayed a stripe of liquid tape about four inched long. It looks thin.
I removed the rear axel and rolled the tires as I would making Sillyies. I let them dry for several minutes and rerolled them. Spit on a finger and smoothed any lumps or drips.
The race was the test.
I will be making recaps for the kids tires from now on. The tries did not fail. They hooked up as good as the rubber tires and did not peal off the originals.
I have had this can for several years and will now go out to see if I can find a couple more.

Black automotive window sealant works well

I assume both of the products used in the above fixes are silicone based compounds. Yah?

I wonder if that stuff called Flex-seal would work?

I sprayed undercoat on a track and it was 2 sticky, never thought about tire coating

I just read the label.
Plasti Dip. Flexible Rubber Formula, and it insulates.
Who would have guessed? I didn't.
I haven't had a chance to get out and look for more.
