Hi there!

Here's some issues I've had purchasing a second hand Carrera Digital Nissan GTR.

Here's the issues.

The bearing on the left rear was really lose, I know gluing it down will sort it out so I'm pretty cool with that issue.

However what I'm not really pleased from the previous owner was that the car was really slow compared to the current Carrera cars coming out. It kept stuttering and stopping halfway during the course.. I changed the braids and opened it up a bit. Cleaned up the contact points as well. However it isn't running that great... I'm playing with two ideas. One is to not give up on it and try to push that chassis to get it running decently or the second is to get a Slot.IT chassis on it and ditch the original chassis.

That used car was beat to hell and I'm pretty sure it was an analog converted to digital ! IMO, next time, I'd buy new digital cars only ! ;)

Did Carrera manufacture a Nissan GTR? I dont remember that and never seen one. If it says Carrera on the bottom, it must be. I am assuming this is for Carrera digital?
Slow car and jerky describes a motor problem or maybe a chip. bypass the digital chip if you can and try running analog (unplug chip from motor and connect wire from braids direct to motor wire, plugs are same). If car is jerky and slow, its motor. If car is not jerking and slow, it may be chip and I would try another chip. Just quick suggestions.
If it is a conversion from different body and chassis, it still may be something rubbing like tires on body/chassis and other mechanical issue.

Take the body off and elevate the rear wheel so you can run it and mess with the little white Quick connects ( from the braids to the chip and the chip to the motor ) you might have a bad or loose one .
Just my thoughts because out of my many Digital 1/32 and 1/24s I have had that problem of stuttering and stopping on 1 or 2 after a few abusive nights of racing...lol

I never liked slotcar jerky. Too spicy.
