Is there a safe way to remove the car number from the car paint with out damaging the number plate? wish to change the 8 to a 9 to match the team car that ran at Daytona. or would be safer to decal a new number plate and 9 over the old one.

Sharpie? You'll probably get a better answer from Greg.

I would consider using a Molotow white Acrylic Marker to go over the current number. Then, I would decal over the old number. Go over the old number as many times as you need to with Molotow marker to make sure that the old number doesn't bleed through.........that's probably what I'd do. But, I'm not an expert.

Buy the white body kit and paint it to the livery if choice.

That is soooo good. Life is not fair that we all can't do a paint job like that one.
I would cover the old number with a round decal of equal size. I bought some of those scrapbooking circle paper cutters at the craft shop. They come in 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inch diameters. Makes a perfect circle cut every time. Like a big hole punch. Cut a circle in white decal paper and voila!

Speaking of which, if you're in the Denver area Feb 25th, we're having a Thunderslots mini enduro (10 minutes per lane) at the 4 lane Carrera track at our LHS.

And apologies Mr. Doom. We really sidetracked your question didn't we?
I know Monogram made some number decals. I have not tried to remove them from a Thunderslot, but in the past on other models I used 90% alcohol and rubbed the old number away and covered with another roundel.

And to the original question; I would use a new roundel and number. Seems easiest and shouldn't ruin anything.

Thanks Randy...Ron is coming over tonight to race...I've asked him to bring that car so I can take more pics. I'll post when I get that done.
