Okay, thought it would be fun to see what everyone's thoughts are with what we have learned can be expected in 2018 from Carrera and Scalextric.
This poll is for 1:32 scale only.
I realize there are MANY other manufacturers, but these are the only two represented for this particular poll. I chose these two because overall, they seem to be best for home racing and not so much suited for commercial raceways.
Have at it !! :D

I think a third choice should be both, there are one or two from each I would consider.

Hey, it is your poll. I voted Scalextric this time but it is because of ONE car only: The 86 Monte Carlo.
I’ll have a fleet of those in the paint booth and hacking some up for Sportsman’s.
But Carrera on the list as well. C7R and Chevelle to hack up and recast.

Scalextric for me...they are producing more of what I collect, 60's/70's Trans Am, Endurance, and F1 cars. As well as modern F1.

honestly prob pretty close to 50/50 Carrera/Scaley on 1/32 but adding the D124's swings my vote to Carrera.

In past years, I would say that is no contest since Carrera is my favorite brand. I still give the nod to Carrera this year but the gap has narrowed for me with the Monte Carlo, yellow Javelin and lower pricing. Nice to see Scalextric really stepping up their game.
Best regards,
Brian

Not only will the Monte Carlos get my dollars, but i just hooked a buddy on them. Now he wants me to help him build a routed track. Which I gladly agreed to do.

I have many more Scalextric cars than Carrera, primarily because I've been getting all the Trans Am liveries of cars that raced in the series from '66 - '72. Scalexctric continues to find new liveries to release, and I buy just about all of them - such as all of the Cougars and Javelins.
But, now my main focus is on Can-Am cars from the same era, and even though they aren't new releases, and are expensive, Carrera's McLarens, Porsches and Lolas are attracting my money these days. Only a few retailers have any in stock and Carrera's not making any $ off cars discontinued 8 - 10 years ago. Scalextric doesn't have anything from this category that I know of.
Oddly, I'll by more Scalextrics because of new releases, but spend more $ on Carreras because many of their older Can-Am cars are now selling for much more per car.
