Here's an M2 hex driver that I like to use; problem is, I can't find replacement tips for it.

Does anyone know if anyone makes a replacement tip for this driver anymore? Used to be called a "Punta Allen" back a year or so ago.

Hi Allan,
I couldn't find the extra tip I thought I had but I did find my wrench like that. I'm pretty sure it's a Sloting Plus. Slot Car Corner carry's them but they don't show extra tips.
Cloverleaf carry's them too and they show extra tips but not sure which one you need.

It can't possibly be as simple as loosening the set screw and inserting a new M2 hex wrench, can it?

Allan Slotting plus has changed the replacement tips again and that style is no longer available. I can look and make sure I don't have one left. I know I have a 1.3 mm but I am not sure about the 0 .9 mm

Thanks Mike, that's what I thought. The old tips were handy when going a long distance through a tire, since they had the length and the constant 0.9mm size to work easily on wheels like the CBDesigns. Let me know if you have any; thanks.

If you have an old hardware store that is stocked to the gills, you might find one of the 'L' hex wrenches and then cut it off to fit. or check out the one at Mcmaster-carr:
https://www.mcmaster.com/#6958a22/=1cb3remnd cut to length for it has a long leg and it would mean waiting until around the middle of next week.

Hardware store hex wrenches are soft and will quickly round off. When that happens you will probably also round off a set screw socket as well. High quality hex drivers have hardened tips. If you have a driver with a slipper clutch and a hardened tip that is as good as it gets. Slot Car Corner sells 0.035 inch replacement tips for their own handle and those also fit a Hudy handle.
You might try grinding a little off of the tip that you have.

I've got one of these wrenches and you have to grind the end off occasionally. Before you know it, it's to short.
The problems with using an L shaped allen wrench and cutting off the short end is that #1 they are too soft and these wrenches need a brass sleeve attached to the allen part to fit the hole properly.

If you can find it in the size you are looking for the Unbrako brand hex wrench is the best in the business followed by Bondhus as a best second choice
Careful if you have to cut them that you do not get so much heat on the tip it turns blue, once blued you have removed the temper and the tool will get soft
