So pleased with new to me decade+ old Artin track

The first of a couple of these oldy but goody 4 lane tracks came today.

I just had to put it together as soon as it arrived. I was surprised by the fact that for the middle two lanes the slot/lane spacing is very nearly 3 1/2". Unless I am wrong, that should allow for some 1/24-1/28 hard body conversion diy cars or Carrera 1/24 cars to race in only those two lanes.

Also, I was thinking about giving 1/24 cars a little more room to drift on the outer lane by offsetting the guide about 1/4" from the chassis longitudinal centerline and use the border for drifting. Has anyone done that guide relocation to allow 1/24 cars to run on a 1/32 Artin track?
