Some of you may wonder what kind of equipment I use to take photos of slot cars (like this one)...

...would you believe a styrofoam hamburger tray?

What kind of light are you using? Is it colour balanced, or are you using lens filters?

The hamburger meat tray is taped to an LED desk lamp...the LED's are cool white, and I used auto white balance on my camera.

That’s just ingenious...great photography you display here!!!

I forgot to say that it's a magnifying LED desk lamp (eye's aren't as good as they used to be), and the flap you see sitting up is to cover the magnifying lens.

I'm one of the ones who have wondered how you achieve your lighting effects. Thanks for demonstrating this one. Here's hoping that you continue to share your techniques here periodically.

Is that the light beam between the lamp and tray? Trying to wrap my head around this setup. Also, any secrets you could share in regards to your backgrounds? Digitally enhanced?
