Arc air app

I purchased scalextric set c1359 which comes with the arc air power base. I downloaded the arc air app and used it with the original track set. I have since built a larger custom track using the arc air power base. If I try to use the app, it prompts to pick a set. If I choose other or custom I have no options. I am wondering if this app can be used with anything other then The predefined sets already in the app. If any one knows I would love to know.
That takes me to my next question are there any race management systems for the home enthusiast? I would like to be able to see lap times , speed etc. if anyone has any experience with them would love to hear about it
