Brainstorm or exercise in futility 2.4 Ghz idea?

With my obsession on creating an ac2car system to run multiple cars in a single slot, I have had a brainstorm about acquiring cheap Chinese 2.4 Ghz RC cars (less than $20 each, even less in wholesale lots from posts by overseas vendors); scavenging the proportional ESC board "chip"s and motors to build a custom slot car/modify an existing RTR analog car; and using a variable power supply for constant low dc power to the track rails to directly power the car at a voltage that won't fry the digital ESC chip. The variable speed remote control using batteries should last for a good period of time. The ones I have been looking at can achieve 14-20 kmph with a 3.7-4.5 vdc on board battery supply. By eliminating the battery weight an even higher speed for fun slot racing can be achieved and the chips might be able to handle a higher supply voltage as well.

That way one could run many, perhaps as many as 16 cars or more, on a 2 lane track. With lane changing consider the fun/mayhem.

I actually crudely tested this this morning by setting up a long straight of available 1/32 straight track using my grandkid's very cheap $8 non proportional single speed 2.4 Ghz RC car I bought from the TRU closure, just by adding a wired slot car guide with the rails powered by 2-6v dc batteries. Without the on board battery the car achieved a speed of over 20 mph over the length of track I had available. The onboard ESC chip surprisingly survived the test run.

TOO MANY IDEAS AND NOT ENOUGH TIME (I turned 69 a few weeks ago and have survived a motorcycle accident, a major stroke, multiple heart attacks, and a quadruple bypass.)
