Scalextric BTCC

Got my first scalextric BTCC car brand new,the Simpson honda. Looked real nice until i gave the front wheels a spin and found the drivers front wheel VERY wobbly. Kind of disappointed. It’s not a cracked hub so maybe a bent axle. Anyone else run into this?

Have had one out of 6 with a slight wobble at the same spot. I twisted and removed the wheel, and then just used some Testors glue and reinstalled it. So far so good.

I picked up the BMW Project X BTCC and all for corners run true on it.

I have the series so far , and only had one with the wheel issue.
Did the same as Harry and it runs just fine now

On the Honda - spun all four wheels on my Razor to true up and then used Sally Hard as Nails nail polish to secure the rubber. Then I trued up the tires and it ran very well on Scalextric track with magnet in (Club's call) But once we went to our Carrera track the rails were rubbing very badly on the underside of the chassis, to the point that the rear tires weren't making any contact and sitting there spinning. So I (we) sanded down the bottom of the chassis to remove the protruding plastic around the motor and magnet pocket AND a little more until we were clear (still see a little rub stripe at the rear of the motor, very faint). It's really a great runner and a class we enjoy.

So sadly,it is a bad wheel. Was hoping for a bent axle. Ill try to fix it on my razor but its pretty warped. I’m pretty sure parts aren’t available yet. I like the factory wheels.

Well,cant win. Put the car on the track and it sounds like a bag of rocks. Changed the pinion and that helped a little. Front wheels are still not right. It’s a good looking car but what a bummer. I cant remember ever getting a scalextric car this bad. Back in the box it goes till i can buy 4 wheels and a rear end set.

Can you exchange it at the dealer for a new one.

That would involve mailing it back and I’ve already messed with it. I like a project. Ill keep buying scalextric. Ill be ordering another one soon because they’re nice cars. Just a fluke,stuff happens.

I am pretty sure that Scalextric or the dealer would have replaced the broken car.
Issues can always happen and most of the time I have had either the dealer or the even the manufacturer jumping through the hoops to get things sorted.
I agree that would be nice to have replacement parts (wings, side mirrors, etc.) but I assume the cost of stocking them would be not small considering how many parts and manufacturers are out there. 3D printed parts could be a solutions...or even self-build parts.
Surely having rules that are a bit more understanding of the current situation should help: it is pretty clear that one cannot find these parts so allowing a bit of scratch building should be encouraged.

I agree we should have more spares. Fly has never been known for that in surplus, among others, and can be frustrating.

Many times they DO have parts, but never bother to notify the USA distributor. And some distributors are far better than others.

It might be worthwhile to check across the pond for some parts. Or email the dealers listed here, as they have contacts worldwide.

A few people ranted and raved over the REVOSLOT models. Picked up two new MARCOS and one had the incorrect front bulkhead, so the front axle is crooked and unusable.

I contacted the only source I could find from Facebook. Was told a new part was on the way. NO part. No service. With a specialty chassis such as this, no spares makes them a dead player in my book. NO sense in starting a series with a "competition" line of models that have ZERO support.

So I feel your frustration.

But to walk away to race Womps? Yeah, well...everyone has their own taste. Good luck with that.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if manufacturers would have spare mirrors and wings and any other small breakable parts included with the car. I think most wouldn't care to pay a couple extra bucks ($3-$5) for a "small parts spare bag". Carrera does a good job with that, with the exception of spare wings.
