Great 1:1 photo resource site

I came across http://www.sportsracingcars.com while researching how I wanted to build/detail/decal the recently acquired Hawk and Palmer Chaparral 2 models.

It is interesting that the Hawk over the rear deck "rocket exhaust" is indeed correct for several races and that the Palmer kit has a full set of detailed Webers, but the chromed wheels look like Borrani wire wheels as opposed to the cast criss-cross wheels. The Palmer does exhibit molded in details like the Dzus body fasteners.

These pics also show that the front fender vents that are modeled on the Strombecker hard body are not accurate for the 1965 Sebring 2A's, but other details seem to be correct for the two Sebring cars.

LOL! So it was "Racing Sports Cars" like I thought it must be.

Don't be embarrassed- I owned a 41 Ford with a flathead V-8 and never noticed it had 3 ports on the exhaust manifold. I found out here on HRW some 47 years later, after I stupidly corrected somebody's 1/32nd flathead engine in a jalopy! And I lived in Waco for 11 years, too. That is still embarrassing.

Thanks for posting the link. Forgot all about that site. I had some pictures posted years ago. IMSA CAMEL GT race at Mid-America Raceway in Wentzville Mo. Race was 1977. Back when you had a camera and you put this stuff in it you call film. It was a great race. Attended that and many SCCA national and regional events.
