A number of us (APalmer, Hangtime, Slot Therapist and myself) joined in the fun yesterday at Mark's Model world for some non-mag 1/32 action!
The classes are designed to run the cars in stock form, magnet removed, with the only allowances being for gluing / truing the tires, gluing in bushings/motor/loose parts and the addition of lead. It makes for some VERY competitive racing and a whole lot of fun!
(for reference - the racing is 2 minutes per lane - 144' track)

The first class of the day was the GT2 / GT3 class.
Slot Therapist wasn't in this first race - but I ran my blue #50 Carrera C7R (its first outing!), APalmer ran his orange & white Ford GT and Hangtime was piloting his Anime Mercedes.

The second class of the day was Vintage TransAm!
Our group ran:
APalmer - yellow& black #68 Javelin
Hangtime - fresh of the show room floor white #11 Camaro
Slot Therapist - blue Sunoco #6 Camaro
Myself - Red, white & blue #6 Javelin

Again, a LOT of great door to door and battles for position all through the pack! Definitely a field of cars!

Final class for the day were the JK 1/32 Indy cars!
(metal chassis, lexan body, foam tires, 25k spec motor)

Our group ran:
APalmer - Indigo Blue & Orange
Hangtime - Florescent Orange rental ride
Slot Therapist - Blue & White machine
Myself - Iridescent yellow and red

The action with the Formula 2 cars was pretty sporty with the low center of gravity and the 25k motors - making for a lot of fun and the need to "pick you battles" as to where to push to pass. :)
And while they don't have the level of detail of the hard body 1/32, they are a lot of fun to race!

Great racing. Sounds like a good time.

Great reporting as usual Todd. I enjoyed the afternoon hangin with the guys. Thanks to Mark for a great facility. He has come a long way since I met him back in the days of RC racing. That was the late 80's or early 90's. I came home exhausted after the race & immediately continued to wrench on cars for the next race. That's when you know your hooked. Ha!

Those 1/32 F1 cars look as if they're a blast to race. In the late '90s & early 2000s we locally ran a similar class using 1/32 Betta F1 bodies, scratchbuilt chassis, cutdown tires, & Playfit Cheetah motors. Back then, there wasn't the production made equipment there is today for these cars. JK did eventually come out with a steel chassis kit back then.

Now THAT is some nice variety. Well done gang. Its great seeing a place catering to all scales/types.
