I accompanied a pard on a trip to look at a hunting ranch he was considering purchasing. Going through Evant (pop 393), I fought the urge to stop by Frank's old digs/warehouse to see if any old Artin 1/32 stock still existed.

As of just a few years ago, you could still find Artin stuff under an auction seller with local Evant connections to Frank. Now Caveman-123 seems to be the only game in town.

I have been extremely fortunate over the past year to have acquired all the straights, R1/2/3/4 curves, and associated borders I think I will ever need for a 2-8 lane track.

That said I am always on the lookout for complete Artin 1/32 cars. Yes... Artin 1/32 toy cars.

As of two years ago, Dragon-I Toys bought Artin. However, there is no news of any continued/new 1/32 offerings.

I went to see Frank & family when I lived in Waco, years ago. I talked to his wife on the phone after I moved far away.

So waytoo are you a Texas native?

I was always amazed that Frank's outfit was the center of the Artin slot car world in the US located in such an out of way place as Evant.

Good memories.

Frank had a very amazing place. Not just Artin, but ALL slot cars. Not to mention the Lotus selection, toy soldier collection...AND simply the largest, hungriest catfish from his pond I have ever seen.

And Becky's homemade ice cream is still with me.
