Pioneer "White Kits" !

It looks like the Pioneer "White kits" are starting to ship (seeing them listed on the European sites / eBay)!

Hopefully, we will see them show up here state side in the near future as well!

Good, finally again a white kit that is really a kit, as in, unassembled. I dislike it when a fully assembled white car is called a white kit,

Yeah, Bob, I remember that you and I both got our hands on a nightmare with the Pagoni Zonda. Never saw the like of that thing. Mine is still not finished.

If the Pioneer kits is priced properly, there will be a huge resurgence in those, there are so many of us who have waited for the white kits to show up. If its yet another product that is priced too high again, it will be a disappointing non-event for the consumers and the manufacturer.

My first thought is, "awesome, i need this"... my second thought is "i can't do a better job than Pioneer already does with painting/printing" ;)
I'm happy to see them making more new releases though.

Would I be wrong to think that "finishing" these cars at the factory would be one of the most expensive parts of the whole process? And therefore, the cost of these kits should be significantly lower than a done car?

With unpainted body kits that have an RTR chassis, there are savings to be made with the body painting and decoration but slightly higher labor costs with sorting, collating and packing all the individual items. There is also a cost attached to suppling decal and sticker sheets.

The upshot is that the trade price is around $10.00 less than a regular fully prepared model.

I wouldn't mind getting a few sets, I have been buying a few of the Mono gram Cobra,s and the Chevy Corvettes , just to take them apart and finish them up in different colors, so having a white body and the chassis running gear wouldn't be to bad, as long as they are priced fairly .

I paid $54.99 for most of my Pioneer cars and think they are worth it. I know Carrera opened the door to lower priced cars, and Scalextric has followed suit, but I see Pioneer as more of a specialty brand. If the white kits are in the $40's I'd think that's a fair price for what they offer.

That said, I' may not buy any white kits because my painting skills are basically nonexistent. All my own liveries are orange peel lookalikes so I have no choice but to buy the RTR's I like and go racing.

Being an experienced model builder and painter I guess my point of view is different. I like painting, decaling and building slot cars with my own liveries.

LOL, well I guess I am one of the ones that would be happy having it RTR and ones that I can build on my own, have been picking up the Monogram Cobras to strip down and repaint, either colors of the year that they ran, or paint them colors I would like to have seen them painted, now whether they will have numbers or not, that will be up to me, but the color combos will be close or fantasy because I will be doing them. Hey guys it is a hobby , you do what you want to do with , your , hobby . The sky is the limit if you ask me . you do it your way and everyone else does it theirs , and if you find an easier way to do something you spread it around so others can benefit from it. Isn't that why these forms are here, so we can all gain from each other . I know I am glad I found this web site , and I bet there is a lot more people who feel the same . we do this for fun , I know that is why I got back into it . Because if it didn't have this I would be going crazy with everything I lost from my stroke .

Hey does anyone happen to know where to get the Cararra chassis to use for the bodies that the guy is making of the ford Torrino and the Dodge Charger . Would rather not have to build a scratch one, would rather just get something that is almost pull and play .
